This is a 406 MHz emergency beacon. U.S. federal regulations require it to be registered with NOAA before use — and it is free.
Register online at beaconregistration.noaa.gov (fastest method). Registration links your beacon's unique ID to you, your vessel, and your emergency contacts, so the Coast Guard and search-and-rescue teams can respond faster if it is ever activated.
Registration is the owner's responsibility.
The ACR ResQLink 435 View RLS is a buoyant, subscription-free Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) built to perform in the most demanding conditions on land, at sea, or in the air. Three integrated distress-signaling technologies — GPS positioning, a 406 MHz distress signal, and 121.5 MHz homing — relay your location to a worldwide network of search-and-rescue satellites, guiding rescuers to within 100 meters or less of your position. The Return Link Service (RLS) feature confirms that your distress message has been received and your location detected, while the integrated digital display lets you monitor live beacon status and GPS coordinates throughout the rescue process. A visible strobe and infrared strobe support nighttime and low-visibility rescues. Activation is straightforward: deploy the antenna, press the power button, and the beacon takes over.
