The SI-TEX SP-80-7 is a fixed-mount autopilot system built for inboard, outboard, and sterndrive vessels running hydraulic or quadrant steering. The package includes a Type "S" mechanical dashboard drive with built-in rudder feedback, giving the system constant verification of every helm command. A Ghost Rudder backup uses stored rudder-movement memory to maintain steering if feedback is ever lost. NMEA 0183 Loran/GPS interface enables automatic waypoint-following, and the waterproof control head installs flush or surface-mounted. An optional SI-TEX SP-70 Handheld Control Unit can be added for full second-station capability. Formerly listed as part number SP-80MS.
