The Raymarine Adapter Cable connects a SeaTalk1 device to a SeaTalkNG network via a spur connection. Note that the connection requires a bridging device such as an ST70. SeaTalkNG is Raymarine's proprietary cabling system designed for use on NMEA 2000 networks, featuring retained connector collars that reduce cable diameter for easier routing and installation. A sixth wire in the cable enables backward compatibility with SeaTalk1 equipment. Devices with SeaTalkNG connectors can operate on NMEA 2000 networks using Devicenet cabling through simple adapters, and conversely, Devicenet-equipped devices can connect to SeaTalkNG networks the same way.
