Ocean Signal rescueME MOB1 Personal AIS Beacon
The Ocean Signal rescueME MOB1 is the world's smallest AIS Man Overboard device with integrated DSC (Digital Selective Calling). Designed to fit inside even the most compact inflatable lifejackets, it activates automatically on inflation and transmits your precise GPS position to AIS receivers and AIS-enabled plotters within approximately 5 miles — all within 15 seconds of activation. A secondary DSC channel simultaneously triggers the DSC alarm on your vessel's VHF radio, alerting crew to the emergency. An integrated LED strobe adds visual visibility in low-light conditions. Most modern AIS plotters and DSC VHF radios meet the standards needed to receive MOB transmissions; if using older equipment, confirm compatibility with the manufacturer before relying on this device.
Important: Register Your Beacon Before You Head Out
This is a 406 MHz emergency beacon. U.S. federal regulations require it to be registered with NOAA before use — and it is free.
Register online at beaconregistration.noaa.gov (fastest method). Registration links your beacon's unique ID to you, your vessel, and your emergency contacts, so the Coast Guard and search-and-rescue teams can respond faster if it is ever activated.
Registration is the owner's responsibility.
