This is a 406 MHz emergency beacon. U.S. federal regulations require it to be registered with NOAA before use — and it is free.
Register online at beaconregistration.noaa.gov (fastest method). Registration links your beacon's unique ID to you, your vessel, and your emergency contacts, so the Coast Guard and search-and-rescue teams can respond faster if it is ever activated.
Registration is the owner's responsibility.
The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB3 Category 2 is a compact, full-featured 406 MHz global distress beacon built for offshore mariners — whether you're fishing, cruising, passage-making, or working on the water. It combines AIS alerting, Return Link Service (RLS), and NFC smartphone connectivity into a slim, buoyant, no-subscription package with a Category II manual release bracket included. No programming is required to get started.
