The Garmin MSC 10 Marine Satellite Compass uses a multi-band, multi-constellation GNSS receiver to deliver precise GPS-based heading data without the interference concerns of a traditional magnetic compass. A built-in Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) keeps heading accurate at any speed — stopped, turning sharply, or pitching through rough seas — while heave, pitch, and roll data transmit directly to compatible Garmin chartplotters over NMEA 2000. A compact form factor and straightforward pole-mount installation make it easy to add to an existing Garmin marine ecosystem.

Specifications:

  • GNSS bands: L1 and L5 GPS (multi-band)
  • Constellations: GPS, Galileo (supported when available), GLONASS, and BeiDou (supported when available)
  • Positioning accuracy: <1 meter CEP; <3 meters 95%
  • Heading accuracy: within 2 degrees
  • Position update rate: 10 Hz

  • Backup heading: magnetometer-based (calibration required for backup magnetic heading support)
  • Network compatibility: NMEA 2000®
  • Compatible systems: Garmin chartplotters, autopilots, and other NMEA 2000 heading-sensor-compatible devices
