The Garmin GT17M-THF SS is a flush-mount, thru-hull stainless steel transducer built for fishing and cruising boats that demand clean sonar returns with minimal hull drag. Operating across a mid-band CHIRP range of 80–165 kHz at 1 kW of power, it resolves fish arches, structure, and bottom contour down to 1,800 ft in saltwater and 2,400 ft in freshwater. The 20-degree tilt version accommodates hull deadrise angles from 16° to 24° without a fairing block, and Garmin Auto-ID technology allows the connected sonar unit to configure itself automatically on startup. Compatible hull materials include fiberglass, composite, steel, aluminum, and wood.
Features:
- Mid-band CHIRP sonar (80–165 kHz) delivers high resolution, low noise, and strong target separation
- 1 kW output for deep-water performance — 1,800 ft saltwater, 2,400 ft freshwater
- Beamwidth of 9°–18° provides broad coverage while maintaining target definition
- Fast-response water temperature sensing built in
- Stainless steel housing and stem for durable thru-hull flush installation
- 20° tilt design supports hull deadrise angles from 16° to 24° without a fairing block
