The Garmin Airmar R109LM is a dual-band CHIRP thru-hull transducer engineered for commercial fishermen, charter captains, and serious tournament anglers who require extreme depth capability and precise target separation. Spanning a combined 87 kHz of bandwidth across Low (38–75 kHz) and Medium (80–130 kHz) CHIRP bands from a single install, it reaches bottom to 3,000 m (10,000 ft) and delivers five to ten times the resolution of conventional sonar — well suited for deep-water canyon and sea-mount work in bluewater and offshore environments. The urethane housing with high-performance fairing accommodates fiberglass, wood, and metal hulls 40 ft and above, and Xducer ID technology ensures clean integration with supported Garmin displays.
