This electric planer board reel is is manufactured from CNC machining billet aluminum, and assembled using solid stainless steel, and bronze clutch components for a LIFETIME of use. The electric motor is the strongest available on the market making the retreival of your planer boards occur in a smooth consistent manner. Cisco's mounting plate is extremely user versatile making it fit onto virtually any angle tubular support or surface.

The mounting plate comes with 14 tapped hole locations for the universal mounting clamps to secure to and can be mounted to both the front and the back of the plate. The line guide can also be adjusted to a wide variety of angles to suit individual needs.

Cisco's electric planer drive reels are centered around a 7/16” stainless steel driveshaft and include a solid aluminum reel, variable clutch, aluminum clutch knob, high torque electric motor (modified output shaft with dual split transmission collar), universal mounting bracket and line guide (both easily adjustable in 12 different positions for ultimate versatility), and multiple mounting options as shown.

 12 Volt Motor Specs: Cisco's solid aluminum 6” reels are powered by motors which are engineered and manufactured in the USA; these motors have up to 4 times more torque than Cisco's competitors making it possible to retrieve any size planer board at any trolling speed. Additionally, Cisco seal Cisco's motors through an extensive weatherproofing process to ensure a long lasting life of the motor.

 Specs for Reel and Clutch Components: The 6” reels come with a 7/16” stainless steel bore to fit the driveshaft. Attached to the shaft is also a heavy duty stainless steel collar which is built for precision adjustments of the clutch (other manufacturers use a thin snap ring which when too much pressure is applied breaks the ring causing the clutch components to rub against the motor housing, thus destroying the unit).

Cisco's clutch components use a hard anodize pressure plate and 660 bronze machined clutch pads for virtually no wear on the unit even after years of constant abuse. The clutch knob is also solid aluminum, and unlike plastic knobs, will neither break nor need replaced each season.

 Hardtop or Surface Mounting Option

Cisco do have the ability to mount the planer board reels to hardtops or flat surfaces. This can be a popular option for anglers looking to attach eletric planer board reels to a flat surface on the vessel. This is available on Cisco's quick release mount for easy on/off mounting. When securing this to the boat, please ensure that you mount the spring loaded plunger towards the inboard side of the boat. This will allow the pressure from the planer boards to pull against the solid aluminum dead-stop, and not on the spring loaded plunger.

 6" and 8" Reel Size Options

Cisco's 6" and 8" reels are machined from a solid round of aluminum and has a 7/16” bore. Four clutch pads machined from a solid bar of 660 bronze are provided which are capable of handling extreme amounts of pressure and heat.

The 6" reel can spool approximately 300 feet of 500 lb. line and 225 feet of 800 lb. line.

Cisco's 8" High Capacity Reel was designed to hold more line than any other reel available by major manufacturers today. The reel is capable of holding 500 feet of 500 lb line and 400 feet of 800 lb line. This reel proves extremely useful for fishermen running.080" diameter "weed wacker" line and holds approximately 400 feet.
