The ACR SR203 is an FCC-approved handheld VHF survival radio engineered for marine emergency use. It auto-tunes to Channel 16 upon activation and features a single-push distress call button for fast response. The backlit digital display and laser-etched keypad remain readable in low-light conditions. A battery protection tab keeps the included lithium primary battery attached and fully charged until needed — simply break off the red tab and the radio is ready to power on. The highly efficient transmitter delivers over 16 hours of battery life at -4°F (-20°C), exceeding GMDSS requirements. An optional lithium polymer rechargeable battery with quick-release rapid charger is available separately for routine use.
