Connecting a FLIR M- or MD-Series thermal camera to a Garmin 8000 series chartplotter over the Garmin Marine Network requires this RJ45 PoE Isolation Coupler. Without it, the Power over Ethernet connection cannot be established correctly, which can disrupt network operation and potentially damage your chartplotter or connected PoE device.
