The Newmar 12-24-7 is a standard, non-isolated step-up DC-DC converter designed to produce 24 volts from a 12-volt system — a practical solution for powering the Furuno DRS12AX X-Class Open Array and other dual-voltage marine electronics without adding a dedicated 24V battery bank or charging system. The shared negative ground design suits negative ground vessel installations, and continuous-duty capability means it can run around the clock without cycling down.
Standard, Non-Isolated Series Features:
- Intended for use on negative ground systems
- 10–15 VDC input range
- 7 amp continuous output
- Current limiting, voltage spike suppression, automatic thermal shutdown, and automatic recovery
Specifications:
- Input: 10–15V DC
- Output: 27.2 VDC +/- 5% at extreme temperature, load, input, and tolerance conditions
- Ripple: <100mV P-P
- Regulation: +/- 5% Line/Load
- Duty Cycle — Intermittent: 2 minutes at 20% duty
- Duty Cycle — Continuous: 24 hours at 100% duty
- Operating Temperature: -25° to 30°C; derate linearly from 30° to 0% at 80°C
