The Airmar R109C-LH is the flagship model in Airmar's CHIRP thru-hull lineup, engineered for serious commercial and recreational anglers targeting deep water. Dual-frequency CHIRP technology delivers 117 kHz of total bandwidth from a single installation, resolving individual baitfish, game fish, and bottom structure with five to ten times greater detail than conventional single-frequency sonar — with bottom detection capability reaching 3,000 m (10,000 ft).

Specifications:

  • Low-frequency CHIRP range: 38–75 kHz; beamwidth 19° to 10° port-starboard / 10° to 5° fore-aft
  • High-frequency CHIRP range: 130–210 kHz; beamwidth 8° to 4°
  • Total bandwidth: 117 kHz from a single transducer
  • Power output: 2 kW
  • Covers popular fishing frequencies of 38, 50, and 200 kHz, plus all frequencies within the bandwidth
  • Integrated depth sensor and fast-response water-temperature sensor
  • Fishing profile: Commercial and recreational inshore and offshore fishing, including deep-water canyon and sea-mount tracking
  • Housing material: Urethane with high-performance fairing
  • Minimum recommended boat size: 12 m (40') and above
  • Compatible hull types: Fiberglass, wood, or metal
