The Airmar MM-9N is the adapter cable half of the Mix & Match system, designed for connecting 600W Non-CHIRP transducers to Simrad XSONIC-compatible displays. The system works by pairing a short 2m pigtail (attached to the transducer, terminated with an Airmar 5-pin male connector) with this longer 8m adapter cable, which carries a matching Airmar 5-pin female connector on one end and the display-specific connector on the other. Both the pigtail and this adapter cable are required for a complete installation. One advantage of this modular design: if you upgrade or switch electronics brands down the road, only this adapter cable needs to be swapped out — the transducer stays in place. Note that 600W Mix and Match cables are not compatible with 1kW transducers or CHIRP transducers.
