ACR HydroFix™ Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU)

The ACR HydroFix™ Hydrostatic Release Unit uses a patented rod mechanism to automatically free a beacon from a Category I bracket when submerged between 4.9 and 13.1 feet (1.5–4 m). Unlike systems that depend on a battery, blade, or pyrotechnic charge, the HydroFix™ releases purely through water pressure — no consumable components means nothing to fail at a critical moment. This is a date-stamped product and must be replaced every 2 years from the date of installation or 4 years from the date of manufacture.
