Marine radar systems cover open-array antennas, radome units, and solid-state pulse-compression radar — the hardware that detects vessel traffic, land returns, and weather cells in fog, rain, and low-visibility conditions where a chartplotter or AIS alone falls short. Most units connect over NMEA 2000 or Ethernet to share targets and overlays with a networked display.
